CONSULAR EMERGENCY OFFICE (MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS)

 

The Consular Emergency Office is part of the Directorate General for Consular Affairs and Portuguese Communities and aims to provide consular support in case of emergency to nationals abroad such as major accidents, sudden disappearances, natural disasters or disturbances of the public order, with national citizens.

The Consular Emergency Office operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has a permanent attendance system.

"REGISTO VIAJANTE" APP

Travelers from Portugal are recommended to register their travels through the “Registo Viajante” application, which is voluntary and free of charge, facilitating the action of the Portuguese authorities in the event of emergency situations with nationals abroad.

Registering in the “Registo Viajante” application allows you to receive information about security conditions, to have access to contacts of diplomatic and consular representations of Portugal and is directly linked to the Consular Emergency Office.
