According to the latest Canadian census, carried out in 2016, the number of Portuguese and/or citizens of Portuguese origin residing in Canada was 440,892.

The results indicate that, in the area of jurisdiction of the the Consulate General of Portugal in Vancouver, there were 66,310 Portuguese residents, representing an increase of about 17.2% compared to the 2011 census.

In this area of jurisdiction, the Portuguese Community is mainly located in the province of British Columbia, where the number of Portuguese and/or citizens of Portuguese origin amounts to 41,765. The second highest concentration of Portuguese population is found in the Province of Alberta, totalling 22,385.
